Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist – Remote Opportunity at arenaflex

Job Summary:

As an Ocean Product Development Specialist at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in supporting the development of our ocean product, working closely with our MD of Ocean, global trade lane team, sales, and operations. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Supporting carrier development, pricing, and analyzing carrier service, routings, and carrier performance
• Implementing and communicating strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality
• Assisting in implementing pricing programs, reviewing volume targets, and developing an ocean strategy to enhance sales and yield
• Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to outline strategy, market conditions, and deliverables
• Direct and indirect customer contact to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Conducting regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are met or exceeded
• Gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity
• Managing annual budgets and controlling, monitoring, and reporting results to achieve budget targets
• Working closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the development of ocean volumes and enhance the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement

• Implement and communicate strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality
• Assist in implementing pricing programs, reviewing volume targets, and developing an ocean strategy to enhance sales and yield
• Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded
• Gather, analyze, and report information regarding performance and competitive activity
• Manage annual budgets and control, monitor, and report results to achieve budget targets
• Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product
• Support sales and operations as needed
• Direct and indirect customer contact to ensure compliance with policies and procedures

Essential Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent

• At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing
• Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
