AI Operations Engineer / Workflow Automation Lead

This role is for someone who wants to build practical AI systems that solve messy real-world problems - not research prototypes. The Role This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and deploying AI-powered workflows and automation systems directly into GreenLight’s platform and operational infrastructure. You will work closely with leadership, product, and operations to design and ship practical AI systems that: Reduce manual operational work Improve internal workflows and decision-making Enhance client and worker experiences Support scalable global operations We value speed, pragmatism, and people who can ship without perfect specs. Over the next 6–12 months, AI will become deeply integrated into: workflow automation onboarding and operational tooling support systems internal knowledge and retrieval systems operational decision workflows client and worker experiences This role will have direct influence over that direction from the beginning. What You’ll Work On Examples of projects include: AI-powered workflow automation Intelligent onboarding and support systems Internal AI assistants for operations and compliance teams AI-driven client and worker support experiences Knowledge retrieval and operational tooling Agentic workflows and multi-step reasoning systems AI integrations across platform operations and customer workflows What We’re Looking For Required Experience Experience building workflow automation and AI-assisted operational systems in production Strong understanding of: OpenAI / Anthropic APIs Workflow orchestration and automation Systems integrations and API connectivity Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) Internal tooling and operational systems Experience with tools such as: n8n, LangChain, Zapier, Make or, similar orchestration and automation platforms Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to ship quickly Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment Strong Plus Experience building: AI assistants Agentic workflows Operational automation systems B2B SaaS products Experience in startup or fast-moving environments Strong product and operational instincts and ability to operate with limited structure What Success Looks Like Within the first 60–90 days, you will have: Shipped production AI workflows used internally by the team Automated operational processes that currently require manual coordination Built AI tooling that materially improves scalability and responsiveness Integrated systems and workflows across operations, customer success, and finance Helped shape the foundation of GreenLight’s AI strategy and product direction How We Evaluate Candidates We care far more about what you’ve built than formal credentials.
