Senior Java Engineer
Ciklum is looking for a Senior Java (Kotlin) Engineer to join our team full-time in Ukraine. About the role: As a Senior Java (Kotlin) Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. You will work on data-intensive systems, focusing on reliability, observability, and seamless user experiences at scale. Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in a microservices architecture Take full ownership of the service lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and production support Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an international environment to deliver high-quality solutions Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability for high-load environments Requirements: Strong backend engineering background with a focus on JVM languages (Java, Kotlin) Hands-on experience with Java 21, Kotlin, and Spring Boot 3 Experience building microservices and designing modular, scalable architectures Experience with event-driven systems and messaging platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka) Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and Elasticsearch Proven ability to improve performance and reliability of systems handling large-scale data Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, international environment Passion for modern backend practices and continuous learning Languages: Java 21, Kotlin Experience with Go is a plus Frameworks: Spring Boot 3.x, KoTest, Gin (Go) Data and Messaging: PostgreSQL, Couchbase, Kafka, Elasticsearch Architecture: Microservices, RESTful APIs, Event-Driven Design Tools: Docker-enabled local development and CI/CD best practices What`s in it for you?
