Senior Data Engineer
EMCD is a leading technology company in the crypto industry, best known as the largest mining pool in Eastern Europe. We are expanding globally and building a comprehensive ecosystem of crypto services, including payment infrastructure, custody, mining solutions and enterprise-grade tools for businesses and institutions. We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to help scale and evolve our data platform. This role combines hands-on engineering work with architectural thinking and close collaboration across teams. You will play a key role in building reliable data infrastructure, improving data quality, and enabling teams across the company to make faster and more informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain scalable ELT pipelines using dbt and BigQuery, following software engineering best practices such as testing, documentation, and CI/CD workflows. Develop and orchestrate reliable workflows with Airflow, ensuring high observability and stable pipeline performance. Manage and optimize cloud-based data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve data quality and warehouse reliability. Partner closely with stakeholders to design accurate, well-structured, and easy-to-use data models. Contribute to internal tooling, data contracts, and the development of data warehouse standards and best practices.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering roles. Strong hands-on experience with dbt, including models, testing, documentation, and incremental strategies. Proficiency with BigQuery or other modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or Redshift. Experience building and maintaining orchestration workflows with tools like Airflow, Prefect, or similar platforms. Good understanding of cloud infrastructure fundamentals across GCP, AWS, or Azure, including storage, compute, and IAM concepts. Advanced SQL skills and practical experience using Python for pipeline development. Understanding of data modeling principles, including dimensional modeling and star or snowflake schemas. Experience working with Git and CI/CD workflows in production environments.
