Job Description

About the Role: The Associate Legal Counsel is a high-impact, strategic role situated at the intersection of law, technology, and patient care. This position serves as a primary legal architect for Fuze Health’s domestic operations, providing the specialized subject matter expertise required to navigate the high-stakes digital health landscape. As a core collaborator for the Fuze Services business, the Associate Counsel does not merely identify risk—they design the legal frameworks that enable sustainable revenue generation and rapid product innovation. Duties and Responsibilities Provide dedicated support and subject matter expertise to the U.S. legal function on a broad range of matters, including commercial, product development and regulatory compliance, intellectual property use and litigation. Advise internal business partners on legal risk affecting the business and its strategies and collaborating on strategies to best manage identified risks. Build and operationalize core legal processes and implement legal operation tools. Maintain a current awareness of evolving laws, regulations and industry guidance relevant to the digital health industry that may impact the business. Partner with business functions such as Product, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical and Marketing to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory and legal requirements. Review materials from marketing and corporate communications teams. Identify and support the development of training materials and policy and procedure documents on relevant legal and business issues. Support the domestic expansion of the company. Report to the Deputy General Counsel/ US Commercial and Legal Operations to escalate business and legal issues as appropriate and support in managing outside counsel relationships on legal matters. Required Experience & Qualifications Minimum Experience: 7+ years of general legal experience at a law firm or in-house practicing in the digital health, life sciences or healthcare industries. Prior experience and familiarity with the legal and regulatory matters relevant to a digital health company, including marketing matters is required. Experience with reimbursement, licensure and credentialing matters will be an asset. General knowledge of business functions and processes at a digital health or healthcare company, with a working understanding and ability to identify, assess risk and problem solve for legal issues relevant to this business. Previous in-house experience will be an asset. Education: J.D. degree from an accredited law school Admitted to practice in a recognized U.S. jurisdiction and active member of a state bar in good standing Additional Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex issues and to balance legal risk and business objectives with a solution-oriented mindset. Strong business acumen with the ability to assimilate information effectively, think strategically and execute efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communications skills with demonstrated effectiveness in consensus building and negotiations. Additional Information Additional Physical Job Requirements Physical requirements for this role include the ability to work at a computer terminal with monitor, keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, and reach for equipment and supplies, make frequent repetitive motions required to operate a computer that include the wrists, hands and fingers, and lift, carry, push, pull, and move light objects up to 20 pounds. The role also requires the ability to effectively communicate through verbal interactions, discern auditory information, and visually perceive details to perform essential job functions.
