Sr. Director, Operations Aerospace Systems - United States (Remote)

V2X specializes in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) services across the Department of Defense, Other Government Agencies, and commercial markets. We are seeking a Senior Director, Maintenance Operations to lead the Aerospace systems business unit maintenance strategies, strengthen operational performance across our portfolio, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance mission execution and financial outcomes.
Responsibilities
Provide program-level leadership for maintenance strategy, execution, and process improvement across existing and emerging V2X programs. Assess operational performance of maintenance programs against contractual and regulatory requirements; identify gaps and lead the development of corrective action plans and long-term improvement strategies. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with U.S. Government customer leadership; represent V2X maintenance capabilities and define mutually beneficial courses of action that enhance operational readiness. Serve as a key advisor to the Vice President and senior executives on maintenance performance, risk areas, and strategic opportunities for improvement. Lead or support transitions, stand-ups, and integration of new maintenance programs, ensuring readiness, compliance, and seamless execution. Partner with Finance, Program Management, SCM, and Workforce Management teams to improve operational efficiencies and program-level financial performance. Support Business Development through strategy development, solutioning, and proposal reviews, ensuring that maintenance concepts of operations (CONOPs) are executable, competitive, and aligned with customer requirements. Champion best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree preferred. A bachelor’s degree combined with ten years of progressively responsible maintenance leadership experience may substitute for an advanced degree. Experience: Minimum of ten years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance operations, MRO, CLS, or related fields. Demonstrated capability in developing and implementing process improvements and organizational optimization strategies. Strong understanding of U.S. Government contracting, federal procurement processes, and DoD maintenance standards. Expertise in OPNAVINST 4790.2, DCMA Instruction 8210‑1D, and AS9110. Other Requirements: Ability to travel up to 50%. U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance; active clearance preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with government partners, corporate leadership, technical teams, and field personnel. Demonstrated analytical, presentation, and problem‑solving abilities. Proven ability to influence, gain internal support, and operate independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong relationship-building skills across all organizational levels and customer environments. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing solutions to resolve maintenance, organizational, and process challenges. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences. Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. The following salary range is intended to display the value of the company’s base pay compensation and may be modified at the discretion of the company. USD $ 225,000 - $245,000 Provided salary range minimum and maximum values correspond to variances between regional/geographic locations across the United States.
