We are hiring a Supervisor, Prior Authorization to lead daily authorization operations and support timely patient access to care. This role manages a remote team responsible for prior authorizations across commercial and government payers and partners closely with Intake, Clinical, Scheduling, and Revenue Cycle teams. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Prior Authorization Coordinators Lead onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings focused on productivity, quality, and development Address performance gaps through coaching and corrective action Authorization Operations Oversee daily prior authorization workflows, queues, and work distribution Ensure timely, accurate processing across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers Monitor turnaround times, throughput, and service level expectations Act as first escalation point for complex or high‑risk authorization cases Quality & Compliance Ensure payer requirements and medical necessity criteria are applied consistently Partner with Quality Assurance to monitor denials, errors, and rework Implement corrective actions to improve accuracy and reduce avoidable denials Support audit readiness and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with Intake, Referral Coordination, Scheduling, Clinical, and Revenue Cycle teams Communicate capacity, performance trends, and operational risks to leadership Support new tools, processes, and workflow improvements
Qualifications
Required High school diploma or equivalent 4–6 years of experience in prior authorization, revenue cycle, or healthcare operations Experience working with commercial and government payers (Medicare and Medicaid) Prior experience in a lead, senior, or supervisory capacity Strong knowledge of prior authorization workflows and payer requirements Proficiency with EMR/practice management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) Preferred Associate or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field Experience supporting infusion services, specialty pharmacy, or buy‑and‑bill environments Experience leading remote or distributed teams Background in process improvement or quality initiatives Pay is based on factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and is benchmarked against similar organizations in our size and industry. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the posted range, as compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. In addition to cash pay, full-time regular employees are eligible for commissions/bonus, 401(k), health benefits, and other company-provided benefits; some of these benefits may also be available to part-time employees.
