Social Media & Platform Marketing Lead
SOCIAL MEDIA AND PLATFORM MARKETING LEAD - WILDBOUND PR REMOTE / FULL-TIME Wildbound PR, a boutique literary publicity and marketing agency, is seeking a Social Media & Platform Marketing Lead to join our team. We work with authors to build meaningful, long-term platforms around their books—and we’re looking for someone who can not only execute social content, but own and guide the broader marketing ecosystem that supports each author’s success. This is not a typical social media role. You will serve as the central driver of author platforms, overseeing how social content, paid media, websites, and newsletters work together to grow visibility, engagement, and ultimately book sales. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: PLATFORM STRATEGY & LEADERSHIP
- Develop and lead holistic marketing strategies for authors, integrating social content, paid ads, websites, and email/newsletters into a cohesive platform.
- Serve as the point person overseeing execution across marketing channels, ensuring alignment and quality across all touchpoints.
- Direct and collaborate with internal team members, including an ads specialist and web designer, to execute against strategy.
SOCIAL MEDIA & CONTENT EXECUTION
- Develop and execute social content strategies across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and selectively LinkedIn and X.
- Design and publish branded content using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
- Create and edit short-form video content for reels and posts.
- Manage day-to-day posting, engagement, and community interaction on behalf of authors.
PAID MEDIA OVERSIGHT
- Guide paid media strategy across Meta and other platforms in collaboration with our ads specialist.
- Understand targeting, creative, and performance metrics to ensure campaigns are effective and aligned with broader goals.
- Review performance and adjust strategy as needed.
WEBSITE AND NEWSLETTER INTEGRATION
- Oversee author websites as part of the broader marketing ecosystem, working with a web designer to ensure sites are clean, effective, and conversion-oriented.
- Lead newsletter strategy, including content planning, audience growth, segmentation, and performance tracking.
CLIENT MANAGEMENT
- Serve as a client-facing representative, collaborating directly with authors to guide their platform and marketing efforts.
- Provide clear, strategic recommendations and maintain strong communication throughout campaigns.
ANALYTICS AND OPTIMIZATION
- Track performance across social, ads, websites, and newsletters.
- Evaluate what’s working (and what isn’t), and refine strategies accordingly.
- Maintain a strong grasp of the “big picture” and how all marketing efforts contribute to growth.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Use tools like Asana to manage workflows, coordinate with team members, and ensure deadlines are met.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: Experience & Skillset:
- 3+ years in social media and content marketing.
- 3+ years working in the publishing industry or with authors is a must.
- Proven ability to think beyond social and understand how content, ads, websites, and email work together.
- Experience overseeing or collaborating with specialists (ads, web, etc.), not just executing tasks individually.
Creative & Strategic Thinking:
- Strong design sensibility and ability to create clean, compelling visual content.
- Capable of generating ideas and leading execution—not just following direction.
Paid Media Understanding
- Familiarity with Meta ads and digital advertising concepts, with the ability to guide strategy and evaluate performance.
Platform Fluency
- Deep understanding of Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, with working knowledge of LinkedIn and X.
Client-Facing Communication
- Clear, thoughtful communicator who can build trust with authors and guide them through marketing decisions.
Big-Picture Mindset
- Able to see and manage the full ecosystem: social, ads, newsletters, and websites.
- Comfortable owning outcomes and adjusting strategy based on performance.
WHY JOIN WILDBOUND PR?
- Be part of a team dedicated to amplifying meaningful stories and voices.
