Copy Editor/Proofreader - AP Style Expert
Copy Editor/Proofreader Position Overview Our client in the Aerospace & Industrial Manufacturing industry is looking for two Copy Editors/Proofreaders. You will be part of a rebrand execution studio we're building on behalf of the client. You must be expert-level on AP Standards: this role will be the authority on edits/changes needed to comply with AP standards. To be successful, you must be experienced and comfortable working in a fast-paced, production studio environment, and be able to triage and prioritize proofreading items based on due date and complexity. Candidates should be comfortable working in a highly regulated space and learning regulatory requirements as well as applying brand standards. This is a freelance role that starts on Monday, May 18th, through June 30th to start, with a likelihood of being extended through EOY. This role is REMOTE and requires the ability to work PDT hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform final QA on Word and PPT assets transitioned to new brand standards.
- Ensure consistency in voice, tone, terminology, AP style standards, and formatting.
- Act as the final editorial gate for sales collateral, training assets, and internal documents.
- Partner with copywriters and designers during revision cycles.
- Flag inconsistencies and compliance risks before release.
Qualifications
- Professional copy editing or proofreading experience with a strong command of grammar, style, and brand voice enforcement.
- Experience supporting brand transitions or enterprise content updates.
- Proficiency in editing content to AP style standards, including enterprise, sales, and regulated content.
- Experience reviewing high volume Word and PowerPoint assets.
- Familiarity with regulated, legal, or sales enablement content.
