Our publication focuses on delivering engaging editorial content that highlights local leaders, entrepreneurs, and community initiatives. We are currently seeking a Remote Editor / Copy Editor to join our editorial team and ensure all written content meets professional standards for clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Role Overview The Editor / Copy Editor will review and refine editorial content for both digital and print publication. This role involves proofreading articles, ensuring adherence to editorial guidelines, and collaborating with writers to maintain a consistent tone and quality across all published material. This is a fully remote position that requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage deadlines independently.
Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread articles, features, and editorial submissions for grammar, punctuation, and clarity
- Ensure content aligns with the publication’s editorial standards and style guidelines
- Review content for factual accuracy and formatting consistency
- Work with writers and contributors to revise and finalize articles before publication
- Coordinate with the design and digital publishing teams when preparing content for release
- Maintain editorial schedules and ensure deadlines are met
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of professional editing or copyediting experience
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and editorial standards
- Experience editing digital media, blog, or magazine content preferred
- Familiarity with AP Style or other editorial style guides is a plus
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills

Compensation
