Experienced Customer Service Parcel Specialist – In-Center Parcel Management

As an Experienced Customer Service Parcel Specialist, you'll play a vital role in our in-center parcel management operation, ensuring seamless coordination of inbound and outbound package activities.

Job Summary:

We're seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Experienced Customer Service Parcel Specialist. This role requires proficiency with various computer systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to meet the physical demands of the position. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for coordinating shipping-related services, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the efficient processing of packages.

Key Responsibilities:

* Primary responsibility for coordination of all shipping-related services and activities, including: + Maintaining a log of all incoming and outgoing parcels + Preparing parcels for pickup by delivery drivers + Sorting incoming parcels + Utilizing proprietary software and equipment to execute necessary job functions + Picking up and delivering customer packages throughout the facility

  • Providing customer service, including:

+ Anticipating customer needs + Suggesting alternatives and problem-solving + Ensuring customer satisfaction with a minimum amount of supervision

  • Assembling parcels and preparing goods for shipping by:

+ Wrapping items in insulation + Inserting items into shipping containers + Weighing packages + Affixing labels to parcels

  • Utilizing pallet jacks and other large package handling equipment (where applicable)
  • Following all Equipment Safety and Package Security guidelines
  • Providing customer service by:

+ Determining appropriate shipping methods + Informing customers of company products, services, routes, and rates + Offering information about company products and services

  • Ensuring quality customer service is given to customers by:

+ Providing packaging services + Offering information about company products and services

  • Offering assistance to customers by:

+ Suggesting appropriate shipping methods + Maintaining inventory of shipping supplies

  • Setting priorities of customer requests
  • Maintaining high levels of customer service
  • Using sound judgment to resolve customer service issues or refunds
  • Employing investigative research for mis-labeled packages
  • Troubleshooting routine equipment problems
  • May provide leadership on assigned shifts and direct work of other team members
  • Performing multiple tasks at the same time
  • Following instructions of supervisors and assisting other team members in performing center functions
  • Collating, sorting, and organizing communications and other forms of information provided by customers and the venue
  • Assisting in the training of center team members
  • Operating the point of sale terminal (POS) ensuring package handling fees are collected
  • Performing daily close-out procedures on POS
  • May assist team members in goal setting and skill development
  • Performing administrative duties, including:

+ Bidding + Ordering supplies + Inventory control

  • May operate photocopy, binding, and other business center equipment
  • Taking customer orders, giving pricing information, performing consultative selling to customers, and explaining the benefits of digital printing technology to customers
  • May pick up and deliver customer orders
  • Following copying protocol (copyright law, confidentiality, and careful handling of original documents)
  • Preparing bank deposit slips
  • Performing all other duties as needed or requested

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

* High School Diploma or equivalent education required

  • Minimum six months of related experience required (Warehouse and/or Hospitality Experience Preferred)
  • Proven strong organization and planning skills
  • Action-oriented with skills and aptitude to excel in a customer-focused and results-driven environment
  • High integrity individuals who present a professional image through effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent team-building and collaborative skills; ability to develop strong customer relationships
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to accurately translate and record information into electronic tracking systems with 100% accuracy
  • Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software applications quickly
  • Ability to pass an OSHA certification for any equipment in the center calling for such certification
  • Ability to move 75 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
  • Physical stamina to walk up to 10 miles per shift

Essential Functions:

* Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods

  • Ability to move and lift 75 pounds
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, partners, and other team members
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform the General Duties and Responsibilities set forth above in a consistent and efficient manner
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours in order to support the FedEx Office business; regular attendance and/or reporting could include regular attendance at a physical location and/or maintaining established business hours depending on the scope and nature of the position

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous experience in a customer service or parcel management role

  • Knowledge of shipping and logistics procedures
  • Familiarity with proprietary software and equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with Quality science and principles

Pay Transparency:

* arenaflex is committed to providing a fair and equitable compensation package to our employees.

  • The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • arenaflex also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
