Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Intake and Data Entry Specialist, you'll be responsible for:

  • Collecting and processing patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and insurance details
  • Entering data into our electronic health record system with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Supporting the Utilization Review Department by providing timely and accurate information
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and care coordination
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and department efficiency
  • Staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in medical intake and data entry

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, medical records) preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in medical intake, data entry, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and data entry software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in utilization review or medical records

  • Certification in medical records or a related field (e.g., Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS))
  • Familiarity with medical coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT)
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
