Job Summary

We're seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Data Entry Clerk to join our team. As a Data Entry Clerk, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our databases by collecting, entering, and verifying data. You'll work closely with employees and customers to collect necessary information, identify and correct errors, and ensure that business databases are current and accurately reflecting developments, updates, and transactions.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain the database by entering new and updated customer and account information

  • Prepare source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information
  • Establish entry priorities and process customer and account source documents
  • Review data for deficiencies and resolve them using standard procedures
  • Enter customer and account data by inputting information on keyboard or optical scanner
  • Verify entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data
  • Combine data from both systems when account information is incomplete
  • Purge files to eliminate duplication of data
  • Test customer and account system changes and upgrades by inputting new data
  • Secure information by completing database backups

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent

  • Data entry experience or related office experience preferred
  • Basic computer courses may be preferred by some employers

* Previous data entry experience or related office experience

  • Familiarity with computer systems and software applications
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
