About arenaflex
arenaflex is a tiny, all-volunteer nonprofit organization based in southern New Jersey, with a large, global community of supporters. Our 24/7 webcam allows supporters to watch and fall in love with kittens from the first day they arrive, often when they are 1-2 weeks old, until they are ready for adoption at 8-12 weeks old. We're more than just a rescue; we're a worldwide community dedicated to making a difference in the lives of animals in need.
Key Responsibilities
As a Volunteer Chat Moderator, your primary responsibilities will include:
* Welcoming and orienting newcomers to our YouTube Live experience
* Answering questions about our adoptable kittens and the arenaflex nonprofit organization
* Keeping our viewers informed with updates and news about our kittens and organization
* Ensuring that chat comments are respectful and follow our chat rules
* Utilizing our software to communicate with other moderators and sign up for shifts
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* A desktop or laptop computer (mobile devices are not suitable for this position)
* Comfortable using the internet and computer devices, with a willingness to learn new software
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a personable and service-minded approach
* A genuine love for rescue cats and kittens
* Reliability and punctuality in covering shifts
* Friendly and approachable online presence
* Customer service experience is preferred, but not required
Qualifications and Preferences
* Must be 18 years old or older and provide proof of identity
* Must sign a volunteer agreement and confidentiality agreement
* Must never have been accused of animal cruelty charges
* Might be required to pass a background check
* Experience in cat rescue by way of adopting, fostering, and/or volunteering is preferred
* Must not be an advocate of breeding animals, nor breed them yourself
