Key Responsibilities:

As an Experienced Customer Service/Sales Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing fast, friendly service to customers, actively seeking out opportunities to assess their needs and provide assistance
  • Learning about products and services using our tools and resources, and providing information to customers to sell entire projects
  • Greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing every customer in your department, as well as handling basics in adjacent departments
  • Maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
  • Working in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments
  • Participating in sales initiatives and promotions to drive sales growth and meet sales targets
  • Building strong relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues to drive business success and customer satisfaction

Essential Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of sales or customer service experience in a retail or related environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors
  • Ability to learn and understand products and services, as well as sales processes and procedures
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in a retail or sales environment, with a strong understanding of sales processes and procedures

  • Knowledge of products and services in a specific department, such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental
  • Experience with sales software and technology, such as CRM systems and sales analytics tools
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to mentor and develop colleagues
  • Ability to speak multiple languages, with a strong understanding of diverse cultures and communities
