Job Summary

As a Customer Service Parcel Specialist, you'll be responsible for coordinating the inbound/outbound package activities of our in-center parcel management operation. You'll work closely with our customers, vendors, and team members to ensure seamless package handling, delivery, and tracking. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating all shipping-related services and activities, including maintaining logs, preparing parcels for pickup, and sorting incoming parcels
  • Utilizing proprietary software and equipment to execute necessary job functions, including mobile equipment assigned on a daily basis
  • Providing exceptional customer service, including anticipating customer needs, suggesting alternatives, and problem-solving
  • Assembling parcels and preparing goods for shipping, including wrapping items, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels
  • Utilizing pallet jacks and other large package handling equipment to move and lift packages of any weight
  • Following all Equipment Safety and Package Security guidelines
  • Providing customer service by determining shipping methods, informing customers of company products and services, and offering information about routes and rates
  • Ensuring quality customer service by providing packaging services and offering information about company products and services
  • Offering assistance to customers by suggesting shipping methods and maintaining inventory of shipping supplies
  • Setting priorities of customer requests and maintaining high levels of customer service
  • Using sound judgment to resolve customer service issues or refunds and employing investigative research for mis-labeled packages
  • Troubleshooting routine equipment problems and providing leadership on assigned shifts and directing work of other team members
  • Performing multiple tasks at the same time and following instructions of supervisors and assisting other team members in performing center functions
  • Collating, sorting, and organizing communications and other forms of information provided by customers and the venue
  • Assisting in the training of center team members and operating the point of sale terminal (POS) to ensure package handling fees are collected
  • Performing daily close-out procedures on POS and assisting team members in goal setting and skill development
  • Performing administrative duties, including bidding, ordering supplies, and inventory control
  • Operating photocopy, binding, and other business center equipment and taking customer orders, giving pricing information, and performing consultative selling
  • Preparing bank deposit slips and performing all other duties as needed or requested

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

* High School Diploma or equivalent education required

  • Minimum six months of related experience required (Warehouse and/or Hospitality Experience Preferred)
  • Proven strong organization and planning skills
  • Action-oriented with skills and aptitude to excel in a customer-focused and results-driven environment
  • High integrity individuals who present a professional image through effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent team-building and collaborative skills, with the ability to develop strong customer relationships
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to accurately translate and record information into electronic tracking systems with 100% accuracy
  • Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software applications quickly
  • Ability to pass an OSHA certification for any equipment in the center calling for such certification
  • Ability to move 75 pounds unassisted and maneuver packages of any weight above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
  • Physical stamina to walk up to 10 miles per shift

Essential Functions

* Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods

  • Ability to move and lift 75 pounds
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, partners, and other team members
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and perform the General Duties and Responsibilities set forth above in a consistent and efficient manner
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours in order to support the arenaflex business

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience in a customer service or logistics role

  • Knowledge of parcel management operations and shipping procedures
  • Familiarity with proprietary software and equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide leadership on assigned shifts
  • Proficiency in multiple software applications, including electronic tracking systems

Compensation and Benefits

arenaflex offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
