Our team is passionate about delivering exceptional results, and we're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Professional to join our West Hempstead Office based team. As a full-time Project Associate, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Revenue Recovery Department, working closely with a team of registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing experts to ensure our clients receive the reimbursement they're entitled to. This is a hybrid position, offering a mix of remote and in-office work, with a 2/3 days on-off schedule.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Professional, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Retrieving patient medical records from various Hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits, adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Extracting and entering necessary information from/to Hospital patient accounting systems, maintaining data integrity and accuracy
  • Making phone calls to Post Acute Healthcare Facilities to obtain information needed on patients, building strong relationships with healthcare professionals
  • Running and creating reports, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team, providing support and expertise
  • Scanning and indexing of documents, maintaining a secure and organized digital filing system

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on medical terminology, data entry, and administrative skills
  • 1-2 years of experience in a medical records or data entry role, with a strong understanding of healthcare systems and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience in data entry and analysis
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications would be highly desirable:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Health Information Management or Business Administration
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and medical billing software
  • Certification in medical coding or billing, such as CPC or CCS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Experience with report writing and data analysis, with a strong understanding of data visualization tools
