Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team on a remote basis, working a 3rd shift schedule from 11pm to 7am. As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for performing approvals of consumer loans, making payment arrangements, and helping customers with any questions. You'll work closely with potential clients and our financial institution to ensure a seamless experience for all parties involved.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:
- Making outbound and receiving inbound calls to communicate with customers and potential clients
- Consistently and accurately documenting all information pertaining to accounts
- Using basic business math to solve problems and provide accurate solutions
- Speaking clearly, concisely, and effectively, with the ability to listen and understand information and ideas as presented verbally
- Maintaining a professional manner, showing sensitivity, tact, and professionalism when speaking to customers
- Following written and/or verbal instructions to ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Processing card payments accurately and efficiently
- Performing the initial approval of potential borrowers by thoroughly examining their applications through multiple software systems
- Reviewing applicants to evaluate their eligibility for loan
- Following up with customers to clarify important points and finalize loan details
- Keeping customers informed of rules and obligations
- Remaining up-to-date regarding lending and other financial services
- Creating and renewing records as needed
- Identifying customer needs and exploring all options available to customers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and change quickly with the needs of the company
- Ability to multi-task by speaking with customers and typing notes simultaneously
- Meeting monthly individual goals as set by management
Required Skills
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Excellent Customer Service skills, with a focus on delivering top-notch service to our customers
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and potential clients
- Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure, with the ability to navigate tense situations
- Proficient with technology, especially computers, software applications, and phone systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
Preferred Education and/or Experience
While a minimum of a High school diploma/GED is required, we prefer candidates with:
- 1-2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably in the financial industry
- Strong knowledge of financial services and regulations
- Experience with loan processing and approval procedures
Technical Skills
You'll need to be proficient in:
- MS: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Internet and cloud-based storage
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software systems and technologies
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
As a remote Customer Service Representative, you'll need to be able to:
- Sit for long periods of time, talking and listening constantly
- Work a 3rd shift schedule from 11pm to 7am
- Meet the physical demands of sitting for extended periods of time
