Principal Consultant – Telecom
Job Description:
- Deliver large, complex, multi-discipline projects profitably, maintaining scope alignment.
- Evaluate project health every two weeks and adjust the work plan as needed.
- Request additional services when appropriate and escalate risks early.
- Maintain alignment with scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring high-performance project delivery.
- Collaborate with Group Leads, Team Leads, and Discipline Leads to uphold standards and support complex technical decisions.
- Build trusted client relationships and serve as a senior technical advisor.
- Mentor Designers and engineers, providing guidance and actionable feedback.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or equivalent experience; advanced degree (MS or MBA) a plus.
- 12+ years of experience in AEC or related professional services with demonstrated discipline-specific leadership. (Telecom/ICT, Structured Cabling, Low Voltage)
- Experience leading complex, multi-discipline projects and providing technical guidance, QA/QC oversight, and mentoring to Designers and engineers.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality, coordinated designs and make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous environments.
- Strong understanding of project delivery, client expectations, documentation standards, coordination requirements, and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to documentation, standards, QA/QC workflows, and system improvements through GitHub Pull Requests.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk (AutoCAD, Revit), Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft 365 Suite, Google Workspace, and GitHub.
- Industry certifications preferred or required by discipline: RCDD (Telecom/ICT) — required
- EIT — preferred
- PE — preferred
- CDT — preferred
- PMP — plus.
