We're Looking for You The Oak Tree Fellowship is a highly engaging, hands-on opportunity for emerging professionals eager to launch a career in conservation. Fellows play an active role in supporting a variety of impactful programs by coordinating projects, events, and meetings; managing timelines; and contributing to key supportive functions, bringing conservation work to life. The role offers broad exposure to how conservation organizations operate—tracking data, improving processes, developing program materials, and collaborating closely with staff, donors, vendors, and partners. Fellows gain hands-on experience by rotating through Conservancy operations spanning across the organization. Rotation assignments could include, but are not limited to: Conservation; Operations; Finance; Human Resources; Government and External Affairs; Marketing and Communications; Ethics and Compliance; Development; & Science. Fellows spend approximately 80% of their time working on rotation projects, and 20% dedicated to required career development learning activities. This is a fixed term contract for 2 years. There are 4 open positions. Oak Tree Fellows report to the Talent Program Manager on the Global Culture and Engagement business unit. Working location is remote from a home office, with one day a week at a nearby TNC office as available. This role requires frequent public speaking, including leading presentations, speaking at events, and engaging a range of audiences. RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

  • Perform duties under general supervision and established guidelines;
  • Make day-to-day decisions within the scope of work assignments and prioritize work independently;
  • Identify routine problems and utilize existing resources for resolution, referring difficult questions and problems to supervisor;
  • Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information;
  • Financial responsibility may include purchasing, processing invoices, contracting with vendors, and assisting with budget tracking;
  • Analyze information for the purpose of preparing reports and coordinating activities;
  • Participate in Oak Tree Fellowship learning activities included in fellowship curriculum, such as coaching and mentoring, workshops, trainings, self-assessments, reflection assignments, public speaking engagements, and/or onsite travel;
  • Serve as a team member for assigned projects;
  • Be willing to travel, work overtime, and work evenings and weekends as needed; and
  • Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-year experience or equivalent combination;
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading;
  • Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlines;
  • Experience performing one or more administrative processes; and
  • Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated;
  • Ability to analyze information for the purpose of preparing reports, coordinating activities, and solving problems;
  • Ability to apply research skills;
  • Ability to write and edit written materials for use with program communications and special events;
  • Database skills, including managing and tracking data, and producing reports;
  • Excellent customer service skills and focus;
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in relevant field; and/or
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Foundational understanding of and respect for differences across all backgrounds, cultures, and lived experiences
