Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:

  • Modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience, ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and service.
  • Registering sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
  • Assisting the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Recommending items for sale to customers and recommending trade-up and/or companion items.
  • Registering customer purchases on assigned cash register, collecting cash and distributing change as requested; processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
  • Keeping counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, taking inventory, and maintaining records.
  • Performing duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Reporting, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhering to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Strictly adhering to the arenaflex policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
  • Handling telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
  • Processing (correcting and resubmitting) manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performing other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Assisting and supporting Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintaining knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and filing claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors, or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
  • Constructing and maintaining displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise.
  • Assisting with separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement as specified by policies/procedures (e.g., raw and frozen meats on bottom shelves).
  • Providing customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine, suggestive sell of promotional photo products.
  • Assuming web pick-up responsibilities (monitors orders in Picture Care Plus, fills orders, delivers orders to customers as they arrive at store).
  • Assisting with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
  • Complying with all company policies and procedures; maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers.

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) or state required certification/registration preferred.

  • 1-2 years of experience in a pharmacy or retail environment, preferably in a customer-facing role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, customers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills, with the ability to learn and use pharmacy systems and software.

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience working in a pharmacy or retail environment, preferably in a customer-facing role.

  • PTCB certification or state required certification/registration.
  • Experience with pharmacy systems and software.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
