Experienced Customer Service Representative – Federal Student Loan Servicing

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing efficient and accurate handling of inquiries regarding student loans, account updates, and repayment options within policies and Federal and State regulations.
  • Handling inbound and outbound customer calls in a highly productive call center environment while meeting quality assurance and key performance indicators.
  • Assisting with completion of customer applications to meet the guidelines outlined in department procedures.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of privacy and security to protect customer data, while providing exceptional customer service.

Training and Development

New hires will undergo a comprehensive training program to understand federal regulations, company policies, and the use of customer relationship tools. The training curriculum will cover:

  • Federal regulations and company policies
  • Customer relationship tools and software
  • Personalized interaction techniques to meet the unique needs of each customer inquiry
  • Quality assurance and key performance indicators

Work Environment and Culture

As a remote Customer Service Representative, you'll work from the comfort of your own home, within a 75-mile radius of our deployment facility in Augusta, GA. Our team values flexibility, work-life balance, and open communication. You'll have access to:

Compensation and Benefits

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll enjoy:

  • A competitive hourly rate of $17.75 per hour
  • $4.57 per hour paid in Health and Welfare (capped at 40 hours per week), covering the full cost of employee-only medical, dental, and vision premiums

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

  • A High School diploma or GED
  • 6 months of contact center or customer service experience in a business environment
  • 6 months of computer experience in a business environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance (Federal 5C)
  • Possession of a friendly and professional speaking voice, patient demeanor, and excellent communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including basic troubleshooting, fast and accurate typing, and using web browsers
  • Reliable high-speed internet using a hard-wired ethernet connection
  • Reliable transportation to a CRI facility throughout the course of employment

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we prefer candidates with:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Call Center experience
  • 6 months of Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneNote)
