Responsibilities:
As a Customer Service Representative – Teller at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:
- Receiving checks and cash for deposit, verifying amounts, and checking accuracy of deposit slips
- Entering customers' transactions into computers to record transactions and issue computer-generated receipts
- Balancing currency, coin, and checks in cash drawers at ends of shifts, and calculating daily transactions using computers, calculators, or adding machines
- Examining and cashing checks for endorsements and to verify other information such as dates, bank names, identification of the persons receiving payments, and the legality of the documents and accounts have sufficient funds
- Counting currency, coins, and checks received, by hand or using currency-counting machine, to prepare them for deposit or shipment to branch banks or the Federal Reserve Bank
- Preparing and verifying cashier's checks
- Receiving mortgage, consumer loan, and other payments and ensuring payments match balance due; entering payments into the system and issuing receipts
- Completing telephone transfers as requested by the customer after verifying customer identity
- Answering customers' questions and explaining available services
- Informing customers of procedures for applying for services such as ATM cards, direct deposit of checks, etc.
- Referencing customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs
- Collecting and recording customer deposits and fees, and issuing receipts using computers
- Investigating and correcting errors upon customers' request, according to customer and bank records
- Executing wire transfers of funds
- Performing foreign currency transactions
- Compiling information about customers, including scanning drivers' licenses, entering account information into computers, and filing related forms or other documents
- Providing accurate, efficient, and exceptional customer service and support
- Filing documentation such as signature cards, customer correspondence, etc.
- Maintaining knowledge of bank regulations, products, policies, procedures, and meeting deadlines
- Replenishing, depleting, and troubleshooting ATM machines
- Placing holds on accounts
- Completing stop payment when requested by customers
- Working with customers on completing EFT disputes and written statements of unauthorized debit forms
- Processing cash advances
- Removing deposits from, and counting and balancing cash in, automated teller machines and night depository
- Explaining, promoting, or selling products or services such as gift cards, money orders, and cashier's checks
- Allowing customers access to safe deposit boxes, following specified procedures
- Utilizing all available technology to perform daily tasks
- Maintaining customer confidence and protecting bank operations by keeping information confidential
- Developing and maintaining skills necessary to accurately and proficiently open new accounts and increase customer relationships
- Interviewing customers to obtain information needed for opening accounts or renting safe-deposit boxes
- Knowledge of new account documentation and compliance, including knowledge of required account documentation, eligibility, account titling, identification, tax ID, resolutions, legal documentation
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of products and services to support customer needs; educating customers on various products and services, explaining key features and benefits
- Representing the Bank by participating in community events such as festival parades and volunteer activities
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the financial industry
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to new ideas and processes, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and banking systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in a bank or financial institution
- Knowledge of banking regulations, products, and services
- Certification in customer service or a related field
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
