You will learn about our extensive range of products and services, from building materials to décor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen & bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental. With a focus on providing a safe and welcoming shopping environment, you will work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates to ensure that our stores are always clean, shop-able, and safe.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide exceptional customer service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance
- Learn about products using our tools and provide information to customers to sell an entire project
- Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department
- Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
- Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
- Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments
- Participate in sales and customer service initiatives to drive growth and excellence across the organization
Essential Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or related environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management
- Strong product knowledge and ability to learn about new products and services
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
* 2+ years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or related environment
- Experience working in a sales or customer service leadership role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sales data and customer feedback to inform sales strategies
- Experience with sales software and technology, such as CRM systems and sales analytics tools
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
