Job Responsibilities
As an Associate Customer Service Representative – Commercial Lines I, you will be responsible for assisting CSRs in the following key areas:
- Managing the insurance service email box daily and reviewing and processing insurance certificates
- Assisting in following up on past due payments to carriers and finance companies as needed
- Obtaining underwriting information, preparing applications and specifications for renewal and new business submissions as directed by management
- Requesting loss runs from carriers to remarket and provide renewal quotes as needed
- Preparing certificates of insurance per client requests
- Pulling renewal client policies from carrier portals and inputting into client files (ImageRight)
- Billing all direct bill renewal policies
- Collaborating with CSRs on sending policies out to respective clients
- Updating AMS360 policy line of coverage for each renewal
- Assisting CSRs with reviewing existing policies and endorsements, requesting changes to the carrier with appropriate follow-up
- Preparing schedules of insurance, preparing I.D. cards, binders, certificates of insurance, and issuing finance agreements
- Returning phone calls and responding to emails in a timely manner
- Assisting with answering calls within the CSR chat
- Following up and sending out policy audits related to worker's compensation, general liability, etc. to respective clients
- Completing the New Business Checklist to ensure new business clients have been onboarded correctly
- Creating and ensuring all clients have an InsurLink account
- Maintaining accounts in Client Portal and setting status to active/inactive and sending invites to access portal to clients. Update team members via email
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
- High School or GED with equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience in the insurance industry (college degree preferred)
- Valid Property and Casualty License (P&C) and provide copy for file
- Ability to learn and achieve the ability to read policies and break down coverage
- Ability to learn and achieve a good understanding of the appropriate markets and their relative business model
- Sense of urgency and ownership when dealing with clients and prospects of arenaflex
- Ability to actively listen, understand the customer's needs (both spoken and implied)
- Attention to accuracy and detail in processing information
- Ability to differentiate between agency bill clients and direct bill clients
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and concisely, both orally and in writing with assistance from management
- Strong focus on time management, planning, and organization skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Gain a good level of knowledge of company products and solutions (a plus)
- Embrace change with the willingness to continue learning and developing skills
- Collaborate, cooperate, and share knowledge with working relationships
- Strong work ethic
- Flexible to work within the designated work schedule as business needs change (i.e., late night, weekends, holidays, etc.)
- Learn and gain a basic knowledge of how to use Agency Management System, experience with AMS360 a plus
- Strong data entry skills with accuracy and ability to navigate among multiple systems
- Gain a level of competency in Windows-based computer applications (Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, and Outlook) and internal systems such as NewTracker, AMS360, ImageRight, etc.
