This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for PhD-level chemists who want to apply their knowledge in a new and impactful way. No AI background required — your deep subject matter expertise is what matters.

What You'll Do
- Design advanced chemistry problems spanning areas such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, thermodynamics, and more
- Develop rigorous, step-by-step solutions that demonstrate expert-level reasoning and logical precision
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, depth of reasoning, and quality of explanation
- Identify gaps, errors, and weaknesses in AI outputs and provide structured, actionable feedback
- Collaborate with researchers to build and refine benchmarks across undergraduate to PhD-level chemistry topics
- Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Pursuing or holding a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a closely related field
- Strong problem-solving skills across advanced chemistry domains with the ability to reason from first principles
- Able to communicate complex scientific ideas clearly and precisely in writing
- Naturally detail-oriented — you notice when reasoning is flawed, incomplete, or imprecise
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
- No prior AI or machine learning experience required
Nice to Have
- Experience in data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systems
- Background in academic research, curriculum development, or scientific writing
- Familiarity with AI tools or language model evaluation workflows
- Expertise spanning multiple chemistry subfields
