Senior Logistics Coordinator, Fleet Operations
Our client, a national leader in last-mile delivery services, is seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Coordinator to join their fully remote operations team. This role is crucial for optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our extensive delivery fleet, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders across various regions. In this position, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of our delivery fleet, including driver scheduling, route optimization, and real-time monitoring of shipments. You will work closely with drivers, dispatch teams, and customer service to resolve logistical challenges and ensure seamless delivery operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of transportation and logistics principles. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage the daily dispatching and scheduling of delivery drivers and vehicles. Optimize delivery routes using specialized software to maximize efficiency, minimize transit times, and reduce fuel consumption. Monitor fleet performance in real-time using GPS tracking and telematics systems, proactively addressing any deviations or issues. Communicate effectively with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and support throughout their shifts. Act as a primary point of contact for driver inquiries and operational challenges, resolving issues efficiently. Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate records of delivery operations, including driver hours, mileage, delivery confirmations, and any incidents. Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in fleet performance. Assist in the development and implementation of new logistics strategies and processes. Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies. Manage communication between drivers and management, relaying important information and feedback. Troubleshoot and resolve unexpected logistical challenges such as traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns, or customer issues. Contribute to building a positive and supportive remote work environment for the logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in logistics coordination, fleet management, or transportation operations is required. Proven experience with route optimization software and GPS tracking systems is essential. Strong understanding of domestic transportation regulations and best practices. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick, effective decisions under pressure. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in using logistics management software and standard office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment. Experience in the last-mile delivery sector is highly desirable.
