Senior Remote Mechanical Engineer - Simulation & Modeling
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in simulation and modeling to join their fully remote engineering team. This position is crucial for driving innovation and product development through advanced computational analysis. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and other simulation tools to optimize designs, predict performance, and troubleshoot complex engineering challenges. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within the US while collaborating closely with a talented, distributed engineering department. Key Responsibilities: Perform advanced structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics simulations using FEA and CFD software (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, COMSOL). Develop and validate simulation models to accurately predict product behavior under various operating conditions. Analyze simulation results, identify design improvements, and provide actionable recommendations to the design engineering team. Collaborate closely with mechanical designers and product managers to define simulation requirements and test plans. Create comprehensive technical reports documenting simulation methodologies, results, and conclusions. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of simulation processes and best practices. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in simulation technology and engineering analysis techniques. Develop and maintain robust validation processes for simulation models against experimental data. Contribute to the development of new product concepts through early-stage analysis and feasibility studies. Participate in design reviews and provide simulation-based insights. Qualifications: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and advanced simulation/modeling. Expertise in FEA and CFD analysis techniques and industry-standard software (ANSYS, Abaqus, STAR-CCM+, etc.). Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo) for model preparation. Strong understanding of material science, solid mechanics, and thermodynamics. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Proven ability to interpret complex simulation data and communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated experience in validating simulation models with experimental data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
