Project Manager, Nature Based Solutions
Job Description:
- Lead the implementation of environmental commodity projects in a collaborative team environment
- Implement greenhouse gas emission reduction and removal projects using nature-based solutions like reforestation, improved forest management, biochar, and additional projects worldwide
- Work closely with team members and project partners to design, implement, monitor, report, and verify their projects
- Develop project description documents and monitoring plans in accordance with the project methodology, regulations, and client needs
- Advise clients on opportunities to improve carbon impact and project performance, compliance with methodology and registry requirements
- Quantify carbon offsets associated with project activities
- Collect, process, and manage project data
- Perform greenhouse gas emission reduction calculations in accordance with all methodology requirements
- Assist the independent verification process for the project, including contracting verification bodies, coordinating and attending verification site visits, engaging or providing support for community & stakeholder engagement, and resolving audit findings and corrective actions
- Interface with carbon offset registries to resolve project compliance issues, deviations, and submit required documentation in a timely manner
- Support the progress of all project assignments
- Maintain project schedule and budget
- Perform occasional project site visits with verifiers, field crews, company personnel, or other parties
- Provide regular updates to leadership on the status of projects
Requirements:
- Minimum BS in a relevant field, including but not limited to: Biology, Conservation Environmental Studies, Forestry or any related fields
- Minimum 2 or more years of project management experience
- Minimum of 2 years of developing, supporting, and implementing nature-based projects either for carbon markets or otherwise
- Prior experience using GIS, ArcPro, QGIS, and other related software
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities. Expertise in Excel and/or other data analysis tools. Comfortable working with and manipulating large datasets
- Strong knowledge of statistics
- Ability to maintain multiple projects on schedule and within budget
- Excels at client interaction, including developing and delivering presentations, written deliverables, and building relationships with external parties
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members and ClimeCo partners
- Willing to travel on occasion (up to 5 times a year)
