Special Education Teacher in Detroit, MI

Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan teaching certification with a Special Education (SPED) endorsement
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with mild to moderate special needs preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Commitment to creating an encouraging and supportive learning atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Instruct and support students receiving special education services, following IEP requirements
- Develop effective lesson plans and adapt curriculum to ensure accessibility for all students on your caseload
- Foster a positive classroom environment, promoting student engagement and independence
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate student records in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development to remain informed on best practices
