Lead Financial Controller
Our client, a rapidly growing FinTech startup revolutionizing digital payments, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Lead Financial Controller to manage their financial operations in Boston, Massachusetts, US . This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring financial compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), experience with financial reporting systems, and a proven ability to manage financial risks and opportunities. You will play a key role in shaping the company's financial future. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders, providing insightful commentary and recommendations. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), tax regulations, and corporate policies. Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. Lead the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely resolution of any findings. Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to develop accurate financial plans. Evaluate and implement new accounting software and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. Provide financial guidance and support to senior management on strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and financial planning. Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting financial reporting and compliance. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification is required. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or controller role. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, SAP) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proven ability to manage complex financial processes and deliver accurate, timely financial reports. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
