Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Registered Nurse NE Job Summary: The Nurse Care Coordinator and Program Specialist is a Registered Nurse who provides student‑centered care and supports program development focused on gender, sexual and reproductive health, and general medical services. This role delivers comprehensive care coordination and complex case management for students with diverse medical, psychosocial, and environmental needs. The RN also strengthens an established gender health services program through consultation, training, and partnership development, and leads innovative outreach, community engagement, and health education. By combining clinical expertise with program leadership and community engagement, this position advances UW Madison’s priorities related to student wellbeing, inclusion, and retention. Coordinator & Program Specialist Responsibilities: Provides care to individuals within a specialized area of medicine to ensure physical and mental well-being Evaluates current care plans, completes assessments, develops specialized treatment plans, documents medical activity, and analyzes patient data and results to help diagnosis and treat illnesses and diseases Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and promotes the health and well-being of patients and those around them May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students Provides ongoing case management for students with chronic, complex, or intersecting medical and psychosocial needs, including but not limited to gender health services, reproductive health, mental health concerns, and social determinants of health. Compensation: The minimum salary is $72,800. Actual pay is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Required Qualifications: Associate degree in nursing Minimum of three years nursing experience Registered Nurse (RN) or eligibility for RN licensure in the state of Wisconsin and/or compact state licensure Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams, including collaboration with clinical, operational, or academic partners Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor degree in nursing Experience in complex case management Experience in an ambulatory setting Experience in a college or University Health setting Experience in innovative outreach and/or event planning Experience with program development and community engagement Experience with grant writing or program evaluation Experience supporting basic needs initiatives Education: Associate's degree in nursing required Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred How to Apply: Click the "Apply" button to start the application process.
