We have an excellent reputation, strong customer retention, and are looking to scale incoming leads through paid advertising. What We’re Looking For We are seeking an experienced Google Ads specialist who understands local service businesses and can generate high-quality phone calls and form leads — not just clicks. This role is for a freelancer, not an agency.
Responsibilities
Set up, manage, and optimize Google Ads campaigns Run and optimize local lead generation campaigns Conduct keyword research focused on high-intent local searches Write and test ad copy that converts Optimize landing pages or recommend improvements Ongoing bid management, A/B testing, and performance optimization Track conversions (phone calls, forms, booked jobs) Provide clear, easy-to-understand reporting (leads, cost per lead, ad spend, ROI)
Requirements
Proven experience running Google Ads for local service businesses Experience with home services (pest control, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, etc.) is strongly preferred Strong focus on lead quality, not just traffic Ability to provide case studies or real performance results Fluent English and clear communication Honest, transparent, and results-driven
Nice to Have
Experience with NYC or large metropolitan markets Familiarity with call tracking Basic knowledge of local SEO (bonus, not required)

Google Ads (Search) – Proven, Hands-On Experience Minimum 3+ years managing Google Ads Deep experience with Search campaigns (not just display or YouTube) Strong understanding of: Keyword match types Negative keywords Quality Score Ad extensions Bid strategies (manual, Max Conversions, tCPA) 2. Local Service / Lead Generation Experience Must have managed ads for local service businesses Proven ability to generate: Phone calls Form submissions Booked jobs Experience with service-area targeting, NOT e-commerce 3. Conversion Tracking & Call Tracking Ability to properly set up and verify: Call conversions Form submissions Call extensions / call-only ads Experience using: Google Tag Google Analytics Call tracking tools (Call Rail, similar) If you can’t track calls, you can’t prove ROI. 4. Keyword Research for High-Intent Searches Ability to identify buyer-intent keywords (not research traffic) Experience eliminating wasted spend through: Negative keywords Search term analysis IMPORTANT EXAMPLES “exterminator near me” “emergency pest control” “commercial pest control NYC” EMERGENCY RODENT SERVICES 24 HR PEST CONTROL 5. Ad Copywriting That Converts Ability to write ads focused on: Urgency Trust Local relevance Experience A/B testing headlines and descriptions Understanding of compliance (no misleading claims) 6. Ongoing Optimization & Budget Control Regular campaign optimization (weekly minimum) Ability to: Reduce cost per lead Improve lead quality Control daily spend Not “set it and forget it” 7.
