Premium Documentary YouTube Editor / Motion Graphics Designer — Paid Sample
We’re producing a premium history/infrastructure YouTube pilot for a new faceless documentary channel, Worlds That Built Us. The first video is The Entire History of the Panama Canal. We are not looking for a generic stock-footage montage. We need someone who can build a designed visual system: custom maps, clean diagrams, lock/elevation animations, archival photo motion treatment, strong pacing, and rights-safe footage recommendations. Before commissioning the full 12–15 minute video, we want to hire for a paid 60–90 second sample edit of the cold open and core lock-system explanation. The sample should prove one idea visually: the Panama Canal is a water-powered machine that lifts ships over land. For the sample, you’ll receive: - script draft - storyboard/visual board - motion graphics brief - footage acquisition sheet - public-domain archival asset folder - rights/download log Required sample elements: 1. Lock elevator animation / cutaway showing ship rising with water. 2. Elevation profile: sea level → Gatun Lake (~26m) → sea level. 3. Panama route/map moment. 4. At least one animated archival photo integration. 5. Modern footage placeholder or licensed/watermarked candidate, with license status clearly noted. Deliverables for sample: - 60–90 second 16:9 export, 1080p or higher. - Notes on what was custom-built vs placeholder. - Recommended licensed clips/assets, if any. - Estimate for full 12–15 minute video timeline and cost. - Editable project/source files if practical. We’ll evaluate on: - mechanism clarity - visual polish - map/diagram quality - archival integration - pacing/retention - rights discipline Please apply with: 1. 2–3 relevant portfolio links, ideally documentary/history/infrastructure/map-heavy work. 2. Your approach for making the lock/elevation mechanism clear. 3. What software you use and whether you provide editable source files. 4. Your fixed price and turnaround for the 60–90 second sample. 5. Your rough quote range for the full 12–15 minute edit if the sample is approved. Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
