Job Summary
As a Senior Data Engineer in the AI&D team, you'll play a critical role in designing, building, and deploying production-stage data pipelines using tools from the Hadoop stack and programming languages like Python and Scala. You'll work closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, availability, and performance. Your expertise will help drive business outcomes, improve customer experience, and enhance profitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and deploy production-stage data pipelines using tools from the Hadoop stack (HDFS, Hive, Spark, Streaming, HBase, Kafka, Oozie, NiFi, etc.)
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to provide key insights to front-end applications and marketers for informed decision-making and effective channel orchestration
- Collaborate with data analysts to ensure data quality, availability, and performance
- Identify gaps and implement solutions for data security, quality, and automation of processes
- Support maintenance, bug fixes, and performance evaluation alongside the data pipeline
- Design and implement new data pipelines and analytics using tools like Tableau, Looker, and other equipment
- Analyze present Teradata/SQL queries for performance improvement
- Work closely with offshore teams for design and implementation
- Identify ways to enhance data reliability, performance, and quality
- Use big data tools to address business issues
- Use data to identify responsibilities that can be automated
- Design and implement truth tables, reports, and dashboards using Tableau, Looker, and other equipment
What We're Looking For
* Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of work experience
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in database management, data engineering, or a related field
- Even better if you have:
+ 3+ years of experience in designing, building, and deploying production-stage data pipelines using tools from the Hadoop stack and programming languages like Python and Scala + 1+ year(s) of experience in Cloud data engineering, ideally Google Cloud with Big Query + Dashboard development experience in Tableau, Qlik, and/or Looker + A master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field + Teradata/Big Data Analytics Certification + Knowledge of the telecom industry + Experience working with a distributed team + Ability to successfully communicate through presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
