Manager, Retail Operations
San Francisco, CA or Remote | Retail Operations | Reports to Sr. Manager, Retail Communications, Engagement and Training General As the Manager of Retail Operations, you’ll develop and manage processes/procedures that drive operational excellence across the retail fleet. You’ll play a key role in defining what best-in-class operations and service are at Allbirds, ensuring teams have the tools they need to achieve their commercial goals. You’ll leverage your expertise to drive efficiency and productivity through sound operational best practices, working closely with HQ and Field teams in the process. You’ll need to be a self starter who thrives working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, ever changing environment. What does the job entail?
- Identifies opportunities for optimizations that can be scaled fleet-wide, builds business cases for proposed changes, proof-of-concepts, pilots, and fleet rollouts.
- Oversees all future operational updates and rollouts to ensure flawless execution.
- Develops and managers all Retail Operations SOPs and associated training materials to meet the ever changing needs of the business.
- Oversees all in-store inventory management processes, such as Back of House Standards and Ship from Store, and identifies opportunities to maximize efficiencies.
- Manages customer and employee facing technology, in partnership with IT.
- Manages critical vendor relationships to ensure business continuity and maximize efficiencies.
- Uses data analytics to validate effectiveness of initiatives and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Manages project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Leads project teams and ensures successful project completion.
- Manages communication strategy and development, in partnership with the Communications Team, for Operational initiatives.
What kind of person are we looking for?
- BA/BS degree or relevant work experience in lieu of degree
- 5+ years experience in Retail operations, or higher level of Retail management experience.
- Retail field management experience preferred, but not required.
- Self-driven with a positive attitude and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Strategic thinker who can easily pivot focus between short term action and long term strategy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to generate and interpret complex reporting.
- Ability to manage projects with minimal oversight/supervision.
- Ability to build relationships and influence all levels of the business, including C-Suite.
- Ability to manage a project end to end (conception to execution).
- Highly organized with a high desire to challenge the status quo to improve the business.
- Strong proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).

- Ability to travel 3-5 times a year.
Work Environment
Work takes place in an office or home setting. This job may require working more than 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours a week. It requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time and communicate effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone and by computer. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift, push, and carry up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 15 lbs occasionally. What do we offer? The pay range for this role is: $106,000 - $125,000 and is remote eligible. Allbirds routinely evaluates pay rates, and the ranges are subject to change based on market rates and other considerations. We factor in a number of components when determining starting pay, including the job and level you are hired into, location, skillset, experience and peer compensation.
