This is not a traditional podcast production role. We are looking for a Podcast Strategist & Growth Lead obsessed with: YouTube algorithms Virality mechanics Audience psychology Retention engineering Thumbnail CTR optimisation Short-form clip distribution Scaling podcasts through systems, not luck Someone who understands how modern podcasts become media empires. Think Retention curves Packaging psychology Thumbnail testing Hook optimisation Story restructuring Clip extraction frameworks Meta ad thumbnail testing Viewer behaviour analysis Algorithm pattern recognition You should genuinely love studying: what makes people click what keeps them watching what creates obsession and how to engineer momentum repeatedly The Role You will work directly with the founder to help launch and aggressively scale RELEARN into a category-leading podcast brand. You will act as:

  • Podcast strategist
  • Creative growth lead
  • Content systems architect
  • Editorial lead
  • Project manager across the content team

You will oversee and coordinate:

  • Long-form editors
  • Short-form editors
  • Thumbnail designers
  • Clip strategy
  • Packaging
  • Publishing workflows
  • Thumbnail A/B testing systems
  • Performance feedback loops

You are not “just an editor.” You are helping architect attention. What You’ll Be Responsible For: YouTube Growth Strategy

  • Developing the overall YouTube growth strategy
  • Analysing retention curves, CTR, watch time, and behavioural metrics
  • Identifying what drives virality across our niche and adjacent niches
  • Structuring episodes for maximum retention and emotional engagement
  • Optimising hooks, pacing, story arcs, and viewer payoff
  • Thumbnail & Title Strategy
  • Leading thumbnail ideation and optimisation
  • Managing thumbnail designers
  • Creating systems for aggressive A/B testing
  • Working with Meta ads specialists to test thumbnails before publishing
  • Iterating packaging based on data
  • Short-Form Virality
  • Identifying high-viral-potential moments from episodes
  • Directing clip extraction strategy
  • Structuring clips for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and X
  • Understanding platform-native retention mechanics
  • Helping engineer consistent top-of-funnel growth

Project Management

  • Managing timelines and deliverables across the content team
  • Creating efficient workflows between editors/designers/operators
  • Giving clear creative direction and feedback
  • Ensuring the vision translates properly across all outputs

Creative Strategy

  • Helping shape the overall identity and growth trajectory of RELEARN
  • Studying competitors and breakout podcasts
  • Bringing fresh ideas constantly
  • Thinking beyond “editing” into brand-building and media strategy

The Ideal Candidate You are probably someone who:

  • Obsessively studies YouTube
  • Watches podcasts analytically
  • Understands audience psychology deeply
  • Has successfully grown podcasts or long-form content brands
  • Understands BOTH long-form and short-form algorithms
  • Thinks in retention, hooks, tension, pacing, and payoff
  • Knows how to package content for clicks WITHOUT killing trust
  • Understands that thumbnails and titles are as important as the episode itself
  • Naturally thinks in systems and iteration loops
  • Moves fast
  • Loves internet culture
  • Loves testing
  • Loves optimisation

You should already have:

  • Proven experience growing podcasts or YouTube channels
  • Proven experience clipping short-form viral podcast clips
  • Strong understanding of YouTube analytics
  • Experience leading editors/designers/creative teams
  • Strong communication and leadership ability
  • Strong instincts around viral content
