Job Description: Associate Civil Transportation Engineer – Infrastructure – San Diego, California Opportunity : Our Parsons Corporation San Diego office has an exciting new opportunity for an Associate Civil Transportation Engineer to work with design engineering of road & highway systems supporting Caltrans, City of San Diego, and County of San Diego primarily for public works transportation projects in the San Diego area. You will perform a variety of engineering tasks by applying basic engineering techniques and analyses within one discipline. The Engineer at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures. Assignment may be to a structured rotational program which would include experience in Project Controls, Procurement, and Construction Management, as well as through several disciplines in Engineering. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected. This position is open to new graduates from a Civil Engineering Degree program. Remote hybrid work allowed for this position (meaning ability to work from home 1-2 days per week).

Responsibilities

Will utilize Microstation and/or Autocad Civil 3D CAD software to perform geometric alignments for road, highway, and other transportation projects in Southern California. Performs various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the engineering field. Prepares or assists in preparing fundamental engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Assists in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts. Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, assists in reviewing supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses. Assists in the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project. Requirements :

• 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• Work experience with transportation systems design(EIT) is highly desirable.
• Previous internship experience for new graduates is highly desirable.
• Previous internships in transportation engineering is a plus.
• EIT is a plus, but not required.
