Job Summary
As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Associate, you'll play a critical role in supporting our Revenue Recovery Department, working closely with a team of registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing specialists to ensure our clients receive the reimbursement they deserve. This is a hybrid role, with a mix of remote and in-office work, offering the perfect blend of flexibility and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Project associate-related duties, including: + Retrieving patient medical records from various hospital systems + Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits + Extracting and entering necessary information from/to hospital patient accounting systems + Making phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to obtain information needed on patients + Running and creating reports + Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team + Scanning and indexing of documents
- Data entry and medical record management, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaboration with the revenue recovery team to identify and resolve issues, improve processes, and enhance client satisfaction
- Providing exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to arenaflex's policies and procedures regarding patient information and data security
Essential Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, business, or computer science) preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in medical record management, data entry, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and hospital patient accounting systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a healthcare revenue integrity or billing environment
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) or a related field
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA and ICD-10
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau)
- Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement principles and practices
- Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
