Responsibilities
As a Medical Records Transcriptionist and Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Transcribing radiology reports from dictated recordings and canned reports, including mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI, and other imaging modalities.
- Updating patient records with breast density, follow-up dates, surgical follow-ups, and physical charts.
- Reviewing and editing drafts for clarity, accuracy, and grammar, adhering to departmental and industry standards.
- Collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to clarify dictation and ensure completeness of reports.
- Maintaining confidentiality and complying with all legal and ethical standards related to patient information and medical records.
- Prioritizing and managing workload effectively to meet transcription deadlines and turnaround times.
- Staying updated with medical terminology and advancements in radiology to enhance transcription accuracy.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as a medical transcriptionist, specifically in radiology, with a strong understanding of radiology terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in transcribing medical dictation using transcription software and word processing tools.
- Excellent typing skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in transcribing complex medical terminology.
