Development Manager, Pratham USA
About the position Pratham USA is seeking a Development Manager to lead fundraising strategy and execution for the NY Tri-State Chapter. This role focuses on growing revenue, strengthening donor engagement, and supporting chapter-based fundraising initiatives. The Development Manager works closely with regional leadership, board members, and national teams to set priorities, track performance, and drive results. This is a highly collaborative role that also requires initiative, ownership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of chapter fundraising efforts, including the NYC Gala, salons, and campaigns
- Set and deliver against revenue targets and annual fundraising goals
- Manage and grow a portfolio of mid-level donors ($5,000–$15,000)
- Strengthen donor relationships and increase retention, engagement, and giving levels
- Partner with chapter leadership and board members to strengthen fundraising effectiveness
- Support engagement, planning, and ongoing development of board-led initiatives
- Develop and expand corporate partnerships beyond sponsorships
- Build relationships through employee engagement, volunteer initiatives, and strategic partnerships
- Track and analyze fundraising performance across events, campaigns, and donor segments
- Use insights to inform strategy, improve outcomes, and guide decision-making
- Collaborate with development, marketing, and events teams to align fundraising efforts
- Lead and support special campaigns and chapter initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3–5+ years of nonprofit fundraising or development experience
- Demonstrated experience managing donor relationships and fundraising initiatives
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build relationships and engage diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively with volunteers and board members
- Knowledge of fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and event-based fundraising
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Self-starter with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
