Director of Operations, Boutique Hotel Group
Our client, a prestigious and rapidly expanding boutique hotel group, is seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Operations to oversee their operations remotely, serving properties across multiple locations including San Diego, California, US . This is a fully remote position requiring exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of hospitality management. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of guest experience, operational efficiency, and financial performance across all properties. Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic operational plans to enhance guest satisfaction, brand consistency, and profitability across all hotel properties. Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, and Human Resources, ensuring seamless integration and service delivery. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and financial performance. Drive revenue generation initiatives and manage operating budgets to achieve financial targets. Implement and maintain brand standards, quality assurance programs, and best practices in guest service. Develop and lead training programs to ensure staff are equipped with the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service. Manage relationships with key vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring cost-effectiveness. Conduct regular property performance reviews and provide strategic recommendations for improvement. Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and innovation. Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement among hotel teams. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and legal regulations across all properties. Utilize technology and data analytics to optimize operations and enhance decision-making. Lead remote teams effectively, fostering communication and collaboration across dispersed locations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience is highly desirable. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in hotel operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., General Manager, Regional Director). Proven experience in managing multiple hotel properties or a large resort complex. Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence, enhancing guest satisfaction, and achieving financial goals in the hospitality industry. Strong understanding of all hotel operational departments and their interdependencies. Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams. Proficiency in hotel management software, property management systems (PMS), and revenue management tools. Experience in managing budgets, P&Ls, and financial reporting. Ability to thrive in a remote work environment, demonstrating strong self-discipline, organization, and communication skills. Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable guest experiences. Flexibility to travel as needed to properties and industry events.
