Financial Controller (Dual-Entity Oversight: Upstak Inc. & Scalewrx Inc.)

We work with Data Center Infrastructure Construction Professionals to provide customized global support, solutions, and expertise in material supply for the white space. Our team of specialists is the interconnection between the customer and the manufacturer, actively managing product selection, product customization, logistics, and warranty. We have extensive expertise in supplying products for CPU and GPU systems. About Scalewrx ScaleWRX specializes in designing, manufacturing, and installing state-of-the-art data center containment systems. With a state of the art manufacturing facility and decades of industry experience, our team is dedicated to delivering superior solutions for High-Performance Computing (HPC), GPU environments, Hyper-Scale data centers, labs, and manufacturing facilities.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Controller to oversee the financial operations of two growing businesses: Upstak Inc. and Scalewrx Inc. This role will lead an existing accounting team, ensure financial accuracy and discipline, and provide strategic financial insight to support continued growth. The ideal candidate is both detail-oriented and business-minded—someone who can own the numbers while also helping leadership understand what they mean and what to do next.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Reporting ● Own the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements for both entities ● Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across both companies ● Review and analyze financial results, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities ● Deliver clear, actionable financial reporting to the CFO and leadership team Team Leadership & Process Management ● Manage and partner with the existing accounting team (AP, AR, GL, etc.) ● Ensure strong internal controls, policies, and scalable processes are in place ● Drive continuous improvement in accounting workflows, systems, and reporting ● Coordinate cross-entity consistency while respecting each business’s nuances Operational & Strategic Support ● Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning ● Support cash flow management and working capital optimization ● Provide financial insights to support decision-making across both businesses ● Drive ownership in our accounting department’s accuracy and response times to customers when necessary Compliance & Audit ● Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements ● Manage external audits and third-party relationships (tax firm) ● Maintain proper documentation and audit-ready financials at all times Qualifications ● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred) ● 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles ● Experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a multi-entity environment ● Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls ● Proven ability to manage and develop accounting teams ● Experience working with growing or scaling companies is highly preferred ● Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Excel (QBO experience a plus) Preferred Attributes ● Based in Reno, NV or aligned with Pacific Time Zone ● Strong communicator who can translate financial data into business insights ● Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple entities and priorities ● Hands-on mentality with a willingness to dive into details when needed ● Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment Why This Role This is an opportunity to play a critical leadership role across two dynamic businesses, working closely with the CFO and leadership team to build scalable financial infrastructure and drive smart growth.
