Project Civil Engineer - Site Design
Description:
- Prepare planning and design documents in the appropriate engineering discipline.
- Perform process design calculations, prepare cost estimates, and use economic analyses to compare alternatives.
- Assist with developing project scope, schedules, initiation paperwork, budget reviews, and progress reports.
- Coordinate projects with other Olsson teams and perform design aspects of projects.
- Direct team members on design tasks and maintain project records, including correspondence, drawings, and files.
- Communicate progress and issues to project managers and coordinate with clients and client meetings.
- Assist with marketing and business development activities, including proposal writing.
- Serve as project manager on small projects when needed.
- Independently perform assignments on complex projects.
- Coordinate the work of assistant, associate professional, and technical staff, and may supervise student or technical staff.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 6 or more years of related civil engineering experience.
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
- Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, and regulatory approvals.
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D.
- Ability to travel for in-office activities, client visits, and site visits as needed.
- Experience with multidisciplinary site development projects is preferred.
- Ability to work hybrid, remotely, or from an Olsson office location in the specified regions/areas.
