Municipal Analyst/Trader
A well-established RIA is seeking a Municipal Analyst/Trader to join its investment team. This role is responsible for analyzing prospective municipal bond credits in trading scenarios, conducting ongoing credit surveillance of portfolio holdings, and contributing to portfolio strategy discussions including asset allocation and economic outlooks. The Analyst/Trader will also be responsible for sourcing and trading both taxable and municipal fixed-income securities. Responsibilities: Conduct fundamental credit analysis of investment-grade municipal bonds across various sectors, for both tax-exempt and taxable portfolios Make security and sector positioning recommendations to the municipal team based on credit fundamentals and relative value assessments Perform ongoing surveillance of existing holdings and adjust positioning as needed Monitor market developments such as legislation, rating agency updates, and relevant court cases Execute trades in taxable and municipal fixed income securities Support marketing, compliance, and operations teams when needed Participate in special projects across the investment function Requirements: Bachelor's degree (Finance or Economics preferred; Marketing also considered) 5-7 years of relevant experience in investment or asset management Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and respond promptly to time-sensitive requests Team-oriented, proactive, and collaborative mindset Strong interpersonal and organizational skills The base salary range for this role is $115,000 to $155,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors - with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
