Senior Buyer – Manufacturing, Procurement
Job Description:
- Execute purchase orders based on demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels
- Source and purchase raw materials, components, and strategic commodities to support production requirements
- Identify and evaluate suppliers; negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts
- Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery (OTD), and drive corrective actions for late or past-due orders
- Proactively manage shortages and supplier delays to minimize manufacturing impact
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve lead times, quality, and cost efficiency
- Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity and reliability
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory
- Perform regular cycle counts at manufacturing partner locations to ensure inventory accuracy
- Analyze inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Optimize inventory turnover and storage efficiency using data-driven analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, inventory management, or supply chain operations
- Experience working in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in inventory optimization
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for supplier interaction
- Ability to travel as needed for supplier visits and partner meetings
