Web Developer – Contract
This role focuses on optimizing a WordPress website built with Divi, targeting improvements in Core Web Vitals, specifically Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) and Largest Contentful Paint (LCP). The successful candidate will analyze the current site, identify the root causes of performance issues, and implement solutions to enhance loading speed and stability, particularly on mobile devices. The position requires a careful approach to ensure that all optimizations preserve the existing design and functionality while achieving significant gains in PageSpeed scores.
- *Deliverables
- Audit the current WordPress/Divi site for CLS and LCP issues using industry-standard tools.
- Identify and document the primary causes of layout shifts and slow content rendering.
- Optimize images, scripts, and assets to reduce load times and improve visual stability.
- Refactor or adjust Divi modules and theme settings as needed to address performance bottlenecks.
- Implement lazy loading, asset preloading, and other best practices for web performance.
- Test all changes to ensure no negative impact on site design or user experience.
- Provide a summary report detailing actions taken and improvements achieved.

- Proven experience with WordPress and Divi theme development and optimization.
- Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals, especially CLS and LCP metrics.
- Proficiency in front-end performance optimization, including asset management and responsive design.
- Familiarity with SiteGround hosting environment and its performance tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex layout and rendering issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining design integrity.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear documentation of work.
