Billing Specialist / Accounting Assistant (Part-Time)

• *Position Overview** Seager, Tufte & Wickhem LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable part-time Billing Specialist / Accounting Assistant to support our growing intellectual property law firm. This role will assist with billing, time entry, and general accounting functions, helping ensure accurate and timely invoicing and financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with law firm billing experience (or strong accounting experience) who is looking for flexible, part-time work in a collaborative and professional environment.

  • *Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and finalize client invoices (monthly billing cycles)
  • Enter and audit attorney time and expenses in billing system (TABS or similar)
  • Process USPTO and foreign associate fees and ensure proper coding
  • Assist with client billing guidelines and compliance
  • Review and resolve billing errors, edits, and write-offs
  • Assist with file openings and matter setup (as needed)
  • Help maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Provide general accounting and administrative support to CFO/COO
  • *Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage deadlines and monthly billing cycles
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets (Excel proficiency preferred)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Pay: $25.38 - $30.56 per hour
