Adjunct - Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU. The Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Department seeks qualified adjunct instructors to support instructional needs across a range of agriculture-related disciplines. This position involves teaching undergraduate courses in either an online or in-person format, depending on departmental needs.
Responsibilities
Teach assigned course or courses in agriculture and related subject areas Develop a comprehensive course syllabus for each section that aligns with departmental standards and institutional policies. Often prior teaching materials for courses are available. Provide academic guidance through scheduled office hours or other contact methods and respond to student inquiries via email in a timely manner. Design and administer exams, quizzes, and other assessments in coordination with department faculty. Maintain accurate records and submit final grades by established deadlines. Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in Agriculture or a closely related field Demonstrated expertise in an area of study (e.g., wildlife, range management, agronomy, animal science, agricultural business, environmental science, etc.) Ability to teach effectively in either or both online and in-person learning environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience at the college or university level Familiarity with learning management systems and online teaching tools Strong communication and organizational skills Institutional Expectations Candidates should demonstrate a collegial spirit and a willingness to contribute positively to the academic community. Work Schedule Adjunct appointments are part-time and course-based. Teaching assignments may vary by semester and modality (online or in-person).This position is paid by credit hour.
