Coordinator, External Affairs
The purpose of this position is to provide advanced-level project and stakeholder coordination and administrative support, reporting to the Director of Government Affairs at Nicor Gas.
Functional Expertise
Support and collaborate with various business units, not limited to External Affairs, Community Affairs, or Community Engagement, on tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Track and manage the receipt, submission, and payment of various invoices and payment issuances, including for vendor services, company contributions and memberships, and franchise agreements.
Perform compliance reporting and tasks for internal and external purposes involving with state, municipal, and professional boards and agencies.
Track external outreach activity, projects, and campaigns, including developing project timelines and data and tracking tools; subject matter research; compiling information and updates; and preparing summaries, reports, and presentations.
Oversee general inquiries and communications with external stakeholders related to constituent matters such as customer account information and field activity, community and political events, and advisory notices.
Provide administrative and cross-team support including scheduling meetings and conference calls, managing complex calendars, arranging travel, managing correspondence, maintaining electronic and paper filing systems, and processing expenses.
Plan and coordinate logistics for meetings and special events and attend internal and external stakeholder events and forums as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Related Work Experience
Required:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience project management or administrative assistance
Understanding of internal business workings and interfacing with external stakeholders
Preferred:
Public utility background
Bachelor’s degree a plus
